Chase Briscoe will get another shot at Eldora glory when the Camping World Truck Series makes its annual trip to the half-mile dirt track Wednesday night.
Briscoe will pilot the No. 27 Ford Performance F-150, the fifth entry for ThorSport Racing.
“I’m really excited to head to Eldora Speedway this week. Growing up racing dirt, and being a dirt guy, Eldora is our Daytona,” says Briscoe. “Any time you get to run at Eldora, it’s special. For me, being a dirt guy, this truck race is special, with it being the only time one of the top three touring series races on dirt. There’s some pride involved when you go, something I always try to run. After running the race last year, this is something I’ve been in talks with since January with Ford. It came down to the wire, but I’m very thankful for Ford’s support and allowing me to run this race. I’m very excited, as it’s one race I’m really looking forward to, and to be a part of one of the toughest fields in the history of the truck race there is pretty cool.”
Briscoe raced at Eldora last season as a rookie in the Truck Series, finishing third. He currently competes part-time in the Xfinity Series and has four top-15 finishes in eight starts.
Wednesday marks the sixth race at Eldora for the CWTS. Matt Crafton won the event last year and is the only former winner in the field.
